David Vequist

The founder and Director of the Center for Medical Tourism Research (CMTR) - the very first academic research center devoted to medical tourism research (www.medicaltourismresearch.org). He is also a Tenured Full Professor of Management in the H-E-B School of Business & Administration at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A. Before that, Dr. Vequist was an executive for Methodist Healthcare (a billion dollar healthcare system in South & Central Texas) and previously was a consultant for Ernst & Young LLC. He is an accomplished speaker, author, researcher and futurist on the topic of healthcare trends, medical & retirement tourism, health technologies,social media analytics, training, development, leadership, and technology management. He also produced numerous articles, papers, and book chapters, as well as being interviewed in publications like the the New York Times, AP, Reuters and numerous trade magazines, industry websites, TV and radio stations.
